Water System Flushing on Tuesday, July 30

On Tuesday, July 30 CMCC volunteers will be flushing the water system.

The bi-annual water system flushing is done per Washington State Department of Health Guidelines, and involves running large volumes of water through our water system in an effort to remove sediments that may have collected with the distribution piping.

As the water is flushed through the lines, Ferric Iron (res water iron) that is loosely adhered to the inside of the pipes will be scrubbed loose and flow downstream. Most of the loose Ferric Iron will be flushed out, but you may find your water is cloudy and/or has reddish brown particles in it for a few days. This has no effect on the water quality (other than visually).

If you experience this condition you may run water through all of your taps (inside and out of the dwelling) for 5 to 10 minutes. This should remedy the condition. If the condition persists please contact the CMCC water system Manger for further guidance.

Additional Notes:

  • CMCC does not add chlorine to the water system for routine system flushing.
  • To avoid cloudy water within your house plumbing, you could opt to consider installing a whole house filter. An example of a water filter installation can be found on this site under the Water System section.
  • Learn more about your water quality in the latest Consumer Confidence Report which is sent to you annually, and filed under the Water System section on this site.

Emergency Water Repairs

A water leak was discovered and an emergency water shut-off had to occur for several properties on Monday, June 24, 2024. You would have received electronic communications (text/email) if your property was impacted. The repairs are now complete and the water service has been restored for all lots. There was a Boil Water Advisory for the impacted lots, but that has been lifted as of Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Thank you.

Continued Water Line Work on Park Place on Wednesday 5/1/2024 Now Complete

The Boil Water Notice from last week’s water line work has been lifted. On Wednesday, work is continuing on Park Place to locate and repair a water leak. Water service to lots: 13, 14, 15, 16, and 18 will be shut off again after 9:00 am Wednesday, 5/1/2024. We hope to have the work complete that same day. But we will send out notifications to the affected lots, if anything changes.

Affected lots will be notified when the work is complete, and water service has been restored. Then they will likely be under a BOIL WATER NOTICE. The notice will be lifted once we receive notification that the water is safe to drink.

Like last time, it’s recommended that affected properties prepare for this outage by setting some water aside to drink and cook with as needed.

5/3/2024 UPDATE: This work is now complete: leak repaired, water restored, and boil water notice has been lifted. Everyone may resume water use as usual. Thank you.

Water Restored for all lots

Work on the waterline is done for today. There will be further leak detection needed in the coming weeks, but for now water has been restored to all lots, and a boil water notice is not necessary. Water service to lots: 13, 14, 15, 16, and 18 has been restored, and you can resume water use as usual. Thank you.

NOTICE OF WATER OUTAGE for some on Thursday 4/11/2024

Over the weekend, a water leak was discovered on Park Place. For waterline repairs, water service to lots: 13, 14, 15, 16, and 18 will be shut off starting at about 10:00 am Thursday, 4/11/2024. We hope to have the work complete that same day. But we will send out notifications to the affected lots, if anything changes.

Affected lots will be notified when the waterline is repaired, and water service has been restored. Then they will be under a BOIL WATER NOTICE. The notice will be lifted once we receive notification that the water is safe to drink.

To prepare for this outage, it’s recommended that affected properties set some water aside to drink and cook with as needed.

Post-Freeze Checks

Wow, what a beautiful day it was today! Now that we’re (hopefully) past the freezing temperatures, we just wanted to share a couple of important reminders:

  1. If you haven’t already, now is the time to check for leaks. With your water turned off (no running dishes, laundry, etc), go check your meter. If the numbers are turning with your water off, then it may be an indication of a leak. So if this is happening, you can try to identify the source of the leak yourself, if possible. However, if you are unable to identify the source of the leak, you may need to call a professional to help. And remember, upon discovering a water leak, the water manager or other Board member should be contacted. Phone numbers are posted on the Community Bulletin Board or you can email us.
  2. Check the roadways, ditches and other areas adjacent to your property for debris. Remember the CMCC Covenants, Restrictions and Agreements state that “each lot owner shall be responsible for cleaning the roadway of debris left by activity on his or her lot.” This includes debris that has fallen due to inclement weather or otherwise.

Thanks for your attention on these matters. Hope you’re enjoying the little bits of sunshine, and staying warm!

Water Meter Readings & System Flushing on Jan 6-7

Over the weekend of Jan 6, 2024 CMCC volunteers will be reading water meters and flushing the system.

For meter readings: Please make sure the area around your meter is clear, and manage any aggressive pets so that the meter can easily be read within the meter box.

Bills will be sent soon after and are due upon receipt. As a reminder: meter clearing fee of $50 will be charged if your meter is not accessible and clear of brush for meter readings.

Boil Water Advisory Lifted

The Boil Water Notice has been lifted! We received laboratory results back showing that the water is safe to drink.

If you were one of the affected properties, you can now use your water as usual again.

Thank you for your patience,
