During Sunday’s annual shareholder meeting, shareholders passed a motion to form a committee of volunteer shareholders to review and update the Community Covenants, Restrictions and Agreements (CRAs), available [here] on the CMCC website.

The original CRAs were written in 1973 and have been amended several times. The most recent amendments were recorded with the Skagit County Auditor on January 28, 2019.

Shareholders expressed concern about short-term rentals in the CMCC community and lot owners who violate the CRAs without facing penalties. These issues, along with the need for a general update, will be addressed as part of the review. The Board of Directors (BoD) will have the revised CRAs reviewed by its attorney before presenting them to shareholders for adoption. The committee will also recommend consequences for lot owners who violate the CRAs. The Board recently added consequences to its policy regarding shareholder complaints about fireworks being discharged within the community.

This is an opportunity to have your voice heard and help shape how our community is governed.

We are seeking shareholders who would like to serve on the committee, which will include one Board member. The committee will report its progress to the BoD each month until the CRAs are revised and ready for a shareholder vote.
