BOIL WATER NOTICE (remains in effect)

Saturday, August 17, 2024 Update: The Colony Mountain Community Club has been directed to chlorinate and flush the water system over the next couple of days.

Throughout this process more water sampling will be conducted. Once the chlorine level returns to zero detection level, samples will be taken again. Not until all samples yield negative results will the “Boil Water Notice” be cancelled (We anticipate this could be Wednesday, if everything goes as planned.)

As more information becomes available, we will continue to post updates to the website and send email/text communications. DRINKING WATER WARNINGE. coli Detection

The Colony Mountain Community Club Water System, ID 14069, located in Skagit County is contaminated with E. coli bacteria.

E. coli bacteria was detected in the water supply on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. These bacteria can make you sick and are a particular concern for people with compromised immune systems.

E. coli are bacteria whose presence indicates that the water may be contaminated with human or animal wastes Human pathogens in these wastes can cause short-term effects, such as diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms. They may pose a greater health risk for infants, young children, the elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems.

The symptoms above are not caused only by organisms in drinking water. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice. People at increased risk should seek advice about drinking water from their health care provider.

We will consult with the State Department of Health about this incident. We will provide you notification when you no longer need to boil the water. As of Saturday, 8/17/2024, this notice is still in effect.
