BOIL WATER NOTICE (still in effect)

Friday, August 16, 2024 Update:
We’ve had an unsatisfactory sample come back from the lab, so the Boil Water Notice remains in effect until further notice. We are waiting on further guidance from the Department of Health and will update the website, and send communications out to the community as soon as we have more information available.


DRINKING WATER WARNING: E. coli Detection

The Colony Mountain Community Club Water System, ID 14069, located in Skagit County is contaminated with E. coli bacteria.

E. coli bacteria was detected in the water supply on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. These bacteria can make you sick and are a particular concern for people with compromised immune systems.

E. coli are bacteria whose presence indicates that the water may be contaminated with human or animal wastes Human pathogens in these wastes can cause short-term effects, such as diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms. They may pose a greater health risk for infants, young children, the elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems.

The symptoms above are not caused only by organisms in drinking water. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice. People at increased risk should seek advice about drinking water from their health care provider.

The following is being done to correct the problem:

We will consult with the State Department of Health about this incident. We will provide you notification when you no longer need to boil the water. As of Thursday, 8/15/2024, this notice is still in effect.
